MASQUED is an entry to the 2025 Little White Book Game Jam. ]
It riffs on the work of Jenna Moran to imagine a setting where the multiverse is ending from opposite directions--one side drowning in salt, another dissolving in flame. Only the MASQUED may survive in their city of delight and excess, telling the stories of worlds either dying or dead.
Is that enough for you, though?

This is not a complete game, only the drabbles of a briefly-sketched setting and premise.
It is inspired deeply and almost entirely by the works of Jenna Moran; if you haven't read her work, it will enthrall you, if you let it.
It is also inspired, very strangely, by the episode "Brigadoom" from the oversexed feverdream scifi show Lexx. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Oh wow, I can really feel the Dreaming Waters influence! The water is death, and immortals will sometimes descend into the world to help us, but not too often because that exposes them to the risk of death too. The bleak and ominous mood feels very Nobilis 2e specifically -- a world threatened by multiple simultaneous apocalypses, where the only people who could help are stuck in lotus-eater mode, and whatever higher power hands out the Masques is cryptic at best. Leaving it open to the players to work miracles and maybe fix things.
It really feels like a love letter to Jenna's games as a whole. And yet the setting is full of originality.
